Minnesota lifters across the USA. |

Minnesota Powerlifting
continues to make its mark not only here at home but
across the USA. Two lifters John Krogman and Sean
McDermott competed in two major events over the past
month. Both these lifters are still new to the sport
but are breaking personal and state records on nearly
every attempt they make.
Sean McDermott traveled to Philadelphia to compete in the American Open. The American Open has turned into the breading ground for the upcoming National competitors. This event hosts lifters from all across the country giving them a taste of a National-level meet being refereed by National and IPF judges. I exchanged some emails with Sean and although somewhat disappointed in his performance at this particular the event, should be proud of himself for competing on such a high-level meet. Sean competed at the Hudson Open only a month early. I expect to see Sean at the State Open getting the numbers he is aiming for. The results for the American Open can be found here. John Krogman competed in the Midwest Senior States in Omaha Nebraska. John broke the 242 Minnesota State Bench Record for the 16-17 Age Class.. He broke the existing 310 record three times with 319-363-380. He was 8/9 with 589 squat and 380 bench going into his last deadlift. He needed 578 to break the American Total Record. He made the lift fairly easy but had a little glitch and was turned down 2-1. He finished with 589-380-556-1526.68. Congrats to both Sean and John for your performances |
