MN Powerlifting News
Powerlifting Meeting
If you have competed in the past couple years, you have no doubt competed at an event run by Jim Cahill and myself. We along with great people whom come out help push to have the best events possible. Over the past few months Jim Cahill and I have been discussing some major changes on how we run our events. We have some options that have been presented to us that we feel would enhance the Powerlifting experience in the short and long term.
Most often when we consider new ideas for our events, we just run with them. Or we get some quick feedback from member and set things in motion. This time around we want to take extra time and present what we have in mind. We will present what we have for a vote of sorts, and decide from there if we want to move forward, or just scrap the idea all together.
During the meeting we would also love to hear from you on what you would like to see. Now to be clear we can’t do everything. But as the case is sometimes ideas that don’t work create others that do. So come and speak your mind and lets see what happens.
For those who can’t attend this meeting, we plan on putting the meeting on youtube and post the questions we vote on online for the public to weigh in. So if the Powerlifting meets that Jim Cahill and I run are something you are interested in, please pay us a visit on March 31st at the Maple Grove Library. Where we may put on the events, a Powerlifting contest is nothing without those whom compete at them.
- Date: March 31st
- Meeting Place: Maple Grove Library
Meeting room inside the library is called 'main street meeting room'

Event Staff information
I am requesting all judges join us at 7 a.m on Feb 11th at the venue.
For those whom primary duties will be spotting and loading, Please join by 8:45 a.m so we can get your positions set up.
Given the size of this event, with the exception of the scoring table staff, you can expect to be asked to preform spotting and loading duties for some part of the day. Last year we were blessed with the help from Scott and Rachel Nutter and the gang from Elite Barbell whom spotted and loaded the entire day. They have stepped up again this year, and we owe it to them to give them breaks when ever possible.read more
